Application Process

Applying to a service academy is a two-application process. A student must apply to a nomination source and apply to each academy of your choice.

Nomination Application

To be considered for an appointment to a service academy, an applicant must be nominated from an authorized nomination source. One nomination source is a member of the United States Senate. Students interested a nomination should fill out a nomination application in the spring or summer of their junior year of high school.

The nomination is determined by an application and an interview with my selection committee. The application includes: an online application, letters of recommendation, test scores, and your high school transcript.

The online form must be completed and all other materials received or postmarked by October 31, 2021.  The student applicant is responsible for ensuring all parts of the application are received in my Cheyenne office by the deadline. Interviews will be held in December in my Casper office. Complete information can be found within the online application.

Military Service Academy Application

It is extremely important that students begin the application process with the academies themselves followed by filling out a nomination application. Each academy and nomination source have separate applications.

I suggest students consider researching a variety of military options, such as University ROTC programs, when applying to Academies to increase their success in becoming a military officer and serving our great country.
