Academy Nominations

Home 5 Academy Nominations

APPLICATION PROCESS

Important: Applying to a service academy takes two steps. You’ll need to:

  1. Apply for a nomination, and
  2. Apply directly to each academy you’re interested in.

Nomination Application

To be considered for appointment to a U.S. military service academy, you must first obtain a nomination. One way to receive a nomination is through a member of the United States Senate.

Students interested in applying should complete a nomination application during the spring or summer of their junior year of high school (or after graduation, if applicable). Nominations are awarded based on the strength of the application and an interview with my selection committee.

Application materials and detailed instructions are available at the link below.

Applications are now open.

Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all required materials are submitted online or received by my Cheyenne office by October 31, 2026. After the deadline, selected students will be contacted via email to schedule an interview.

Military Service Academy Application

Be sure to also start your applications directly with the academies. Each academy and nomination source has its own separate application, so please complete both.

I suggest students consider researching a variety of military options, such as University ROTC programs, when applying to Academies to increase their success in becoming a military officer and serving our great country.
