Application Process

Applying to a service academy is a two-application process. A student must apply to a nomination source and apply to each academy of your choice.

Nomination Application

To be considered for an appointment to a service academy, an applicant must be nominated from an authorized nomination source. One nomination source is a member of the United States Senate. Students interested a nomination should fill out a nomination application in the spring or summer of their junior year of high school.

The nomination is determined by an application and an interview with my selection committee. The application includes: an online application, letters of recommendation, test scores, and your high school transcript.

Next year’s applications to the U.S. Military Service Academies will open in spring of 2024.

It is extremely important that students begin the application process with the academies themselves followed by filling out a nomination application. Each academy and nomination source have separate applications.

I suggest students consider researching a variety of military options, such as University ROTC programs, when applying to Academies to increase their success in becoming a military officer and serving our great country.
