Recent reports circulated that the Consumer Protection Safety Commission (CPSC) is considering banning gas stoves — a move to push the Biden Administration’s anti-American energy agenda by banning an everyday appliance people in Wyoming rely on for cooking meals for their families.
People in Wyoming should have the choice over what kind of appliances they have in their homes, and I share their concerns over this potential ban. Gas stoves and ranges are cheaper, more durable, have lower utility bills, and are less likely to result in a cooking fire than an electric stove.
I led a letter with several of my colleagues to the CPSC citing our concerns and urging them to hold off on any action on this matter until more information is gathered about the impact of gas stoves in homes. I will keep gathering information and keep pushing back on this government overreach into Wyoming homes.
