Washington, D.C.— Senate Western Caucus Chair Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) issued the following statement today after the Trump administration announced plans to rescind the Obama-era Endangerment Finding:
“I’m thrilled the Trump administration’s EPA is taking action to rescind the imbecilic Obama-era ‘Endangerment Finding Rule’ that Washington bureaucrats have utilized to expand federal overreach and control,” said Lummis. “This was never a rule that went through proper congressional debate or approval—instead, it was created by unelected Democrat bureaucrats to wage a decades-long crusade to dismantle our fossil fuel industry in the name of addressing climate change. I’m grateful President Trump and Administrator Zeldin are following through on their commitment to restore common sense and rein in heavy handed regulatory tyranny.”
