WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) highlighted the hypocrisy in the Biden administration’s stance on energy usage during a Senate Environment and Public Works Subcommittee on Clean Air, Climate and Nuclear Safety hearing titled, “Air, Climate and Environmental Impacts of Crypto Mining.”

“The Biden administration is speaking out of both sides of its mouth when it comes to our energy usage in this country,” said Sen. Lummis. “The same administration that is focused on banning gas stoves in favor of their electric counterparts and replacing gas powered cars with electric vehicles is now pushing to curtail digital asset mining over concerns with energy usage. This makes no sense. This administration shouldn’t be picking winners and losers in what industries can use our energy grid.”
